About:

Raj Kumar Shrestha has been volunteering in the role of Executive Office Director at Himalaya Health Clinic (HHC), a non-profit organization since 2020. Raj has extensive experience which he diligently utilizes in planning, organizing, and managing to ensure the clinic’s regular operations and programs advance impeccably.

Raj, a resident of Dallas, TX, is originally from Aarughat, Gorkha, Nepal, and lives with his wife Muna, daughter Dr. Rajani (Family Physician), and son Muraj Shrestha. Before immigrating to the United States in 2010, Raj worked for the Consular Section of the U.S. Embassy in Kathmandu, Nepal. Not only he did serve in the Embassy for 17 consecutive years, but his exemplary performance also made him the recipient of numerous awards including the highest recognition of the “Best Foreign Service National Employee of the Year award” in 2007.

When Nepal was struck by two devastating earthquakes within a month apart that killed thousands of people and destroyed substantial numbers of houses and infrastructures in the year 2015, Raj could not resist flying to Nepal with a team of people to volunteer in whatever way he could. He spent more than two months providing compassionate support and help to earthquake victims, putting his own life in danger. Additionally, as a Nepalese Society of Texas (NST) Volunteer, Raj visited more than Eight districts in Nepal, participated in several search and rescue missions, helped organize Health Camps and distributed relief packages to needy people in remote regions. Raj has comprehensive knowledge and experience in managerial, planning, administrative, customer service, U.S Immigration laws, and crisis management.
