History of HHC

The history of Himalaya Health Clinic (HHC) goes back to September 2018 when the Texas Nepalese Medical Association (TNMA) was established to serve as a uniting platform for the Doctors, Dentists, and nurses in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. The goal of TNMA was to act as a forum for doctors, dentists, and medical diaspora to interact with each other and the community and work together to establish a free clinic for the community. The motto of TNMA is “Working together for a healthy community.”

It soon became apparent that HHC needed to focus and establish a free clinic. To undertake the challenges of this daunting task HHC was established and powered by TNMA in May 2020. The sole goal of HHC was to fundraise and run a sustainable free Health Clinic for underserved and uninsured patients. After many challenges and setbacks, the ‘Himalaya Health Center dba Himalaya Health Clinic opened its doors and started seeing its first patients on May 7, 2023, and has since provided free medical and dental services to over 700 patients until January 2024 in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. HHC is being operated with the support of Life Time Members (LTM), Life Time supporters (LTS), and community members, hence community involvement is crucial to run a sustainable HHC.
